Guangzhou, October 15, 2025 — The 138th China Import and Export Fair (Canton Fair) officially opened today, showcasing its defining themes of innovation, intelligence, and green development.

This year’s fair reaches a record-breaking scale, with a total exhibition area of 1.55 million square meters, 74,600 booths, and participation from over 32,000 enterprises—including about 3,600 making their debut.

As solid trade deals continue to flow, more exhibitors are bringing their self-developed new products to the global stage, underscoring the Canton Fair’s growing role as a vital platform connecting Chinese and international trade.

Liu Bo, an exhibitor who has worked in China’s home appliance industry for 30 years, said this is his company’s first appearance at the Canton Fair. “Our goal is clear — to open the door to international markets,” he told reporters.

Meanwhile, enthusiasm from global buyers is equally strong. Ilirkin, a buyer from Europe, shared that his team plans not only to visit suppliers in person but also to expand their purchases of Chinese technology products during this session.

At the Canton Fair, exhibitors are actively exploring new markets with certified innovations, while buyers seek more diverse and efficient supply chain solutions. This dynamic two-way engagement highlights the fair’s unique role as a bridge for global trade collaboration.

According to Zhu Yong, Director of the China Foreign Trade Center, 144 global business organizations have formed delegations to attend the fair — a 12.5% increase compared with the previous session. As of now, 207,000 buyers from 217 export markets have pre-registered, up 14.1% year-on-year. Notably, participation from the European Union, the United States, and Belt and Road partner countries has grown significantly.
