What is a moissanite?
Moissanite was first discovered in the late-nineteenth century. Deposits of raw moissanite were found in a meteor crater and since then it remains a fairly rare gemstone as it’s not commonly found in nature.
It is however easily produced in a lab, and therefore the lack of natural moissanite on the gemstone market is supplemented with lab grown moissanite (which is physically and molecularly identical to a moissanite gem found in the earth).
What is a diamond?
Diamonds are an iconic gemstone, having been revered in human cultures around the world of millenia. Today diamonds are mined around the world, with countries such as South Africa, the US, and Russia leading the industry’s
diamond rough output. But over the past few decades, technology has been developed that can manufacture diamonds in a laboratory. Known as ‘lab grown diamonds’, this category of diamonds are both physically and molecularly identical to traditionally mined diamonds. They look exactly the same as any other kind of diamond, the only difference is their origin. Lab grown diamonds are very affordable, and a higher quality alternative to moissanite.
Diamonds are the hardest known material on earth, with a hardness of 10 on the Mohs scale. Diamonds are known for their incredible brilliance and scintillation.
How To Measure Your Ring Size
There are a few different methods you can use to find your perfect ring size. If you already own a ring in the correct size, you can physically measure it. If not, you can measure your finger to determine your size. Discover how to measure your ring size below.
Method 1: Measure a Ring
- Find a ring that fits comfortably on the finger you intend to wear your new ring on.
- Measure the internal diameter of the ring, using a ruler or measuring tape. To do so, ensure you are using a ruler with millimetre (mm) measurements, then place your ring on top of the ruler and measure the inside of the circle – in other words, the part that is in contact with your finger.
- Use our Ring Size Chart to convert your diameter measurement into the correct ring size.
Method 2: Measure your Finger
- Cut a piece of string or paper about 10 cm long.
- Wrap it around the base of your finger so it fits comfortably.
- Mark where the ends meet.
- Measure the length from the end to the mark (in mm) — this is your finger circumference.
- Use the Ring Size Chart below to find your size.
Example:
- Finger circumference: 64 mm
- Ring size: US 11

- Always double-check your measurements to ensure accuracy.
- Finger size can fluctuate throughout the day, over time, and with changes in temperature. For best results, measure your finger in the afternoon when your hands are warm. If you fall between two sizes, select the larger (or half size up) for a more comfortable fit.
- Measure the exact finger where you intend to wear the ring—or use a ring that already fits that finger. Remember, ring sizes can vary between different fingers and even between your left and right hand.
